Skim Guard serves 3 purposes:
1. The cap covers the top of the skimmers during the construction process to keep the skimmers showroom clean.
2. The rigid cover replaces the outdated method of using duct tape.
The cover allows shotcrete or gunite to be inserted around the skimmer flange. This gives the skimmer a better seal against leaks in the future.
The outdated method used shooting shotcrete or gunite over duct tape which is a for sure method of potential leaks in the future.
3, the flexible cover is installed in the skimmers throat after tile & grouting are installed to keep the skimmers clean until startup.

My product was made to replace the outdated method of dealing with duct tape on the pool skimmers throat and allowing easier cleanup during the construction process.

Skim guard is a solution to the outdated method of shooting concrete over duct tape. that outdated method will lead to leaks once startup begins. Skim Guard allows for the concrete to go all the way to the skimmer flange allowing for a better seal and preventing leaks.
